WALLY COLE, PHDLicensed Psychologist
Dr. Cole completed his PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Memphis in 2017. His clinical experience includes providing therapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, veterans, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. He began working at a residential facility for youth with problem sexual behaviors and then moved to in-home services and emergency services.
He typically applies Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing strategies to provide an adequate balance of challenging and supporting the client to help them reach their goals. Often, Dr. Cole uses humor in therapy. Dr. Cole conducts a variety of psychological and personality assessments for adults, adolescents, and children. This includes evaluations for emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual functioning, learning disabilities, and assessments for complicated surgical procedures. Also, he provides evaluations for civilians and veterans to determine if they meet the criteria for disability determination. In his spare time, Dr. Cole enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his kids and dog, Meatball, running and lifting weights, smoking food on his Traeger, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Kansas Jayhawks even though the Jayhawks are terrible at football. |
