We can help women and/or their partners as they ride the emotional roller coaster of infertility. Struggling to start a family can be extremely stressful on both the individual and on the couple’s relationship. Our psychologists have experience working with the emotional changes caused by fertility treatments and the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.
Pregnancy can be a wonderful, exciting time in a woman’s life. It can also be terrifying and upsetting. It may be all of the above at once. Whether she is thrilled to be expecting or is recovering from a voluntary pregnancy termination, our psychologists focus on the individual woman’s needs at the time. Unfortunately, not all parents get to bring their babies home due to miscarriage, stillbirth, prematurity, and infant loss. We are trained to help parents through these difficult times. Women face a lifetime of emotional changes corresponding with reproductive health. We can help with improved coping for those faced with a reproductive health problem such as a STI or crisis such as ovarian cancer. Our psychologists can also walk alongside a woman experiencing the physical and emotional changes associated with perimenopause. Processing a phase-of-life transition such as menopause is also done with sensitivity and expertise. We will provide the highest quality of care with compassion and understanding. |
