ABBY KELTY, PHDLicensed Psychologist
PsyPact Provider Abby Kelty, PhD, (she/her) received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, where she specialized in Health Psychology. Through her clinical work, she has gained experience providing evidence-based treatments for trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and insomnia. She also has experience with pretransplant evaluations, psychological assessment, and vocational assessment.
Dr. Kelty enjoys working with adults who are struggling with healing from trauma, managing anxiety and depression, navigating life transitions, relationship conflicts, and identity concerns. She also has a passion for helping persons with complex medical conditions (e.g., cancer, diabetes, chronic pain) cope with their illness and live a meaningful life. Dr. Kelty utilizes interpersonal, humanistic, narrative, and holistic health perspectives in her approach to treatment. She values the importance of exploring biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of health and well-being to serve as a guide for helping clients better understand their suffering and make meaningful changes. What Dr. Kelty loves most about her work is developing safe and collaborative therapeutic relationships with clients, assisting clients in finding meaning and purpose in their lives, and helping clients develop healthy relationships with themselves, their emotions, and others. Outside of work, Dr. Kelty enjoys traveling, reading, playing board games and trivia with friends, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog. |
