DANIELLE HIBBS, PSYD
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Dr. Danielle Hibbs is currently a postdoctoral fellow with Compass Counseling and Psychological Services. She completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Spalding University, where she developed a clinical interest in trauma, serious mental illness, SUD, crisis management, depression, assessment, and health psychology. Danielle has past clinical experience in a variety of adult populations and settings and has a special interest in working with first responders and veterans. As a veteran herself, Danielle believes in giving back to her community and breaking the stigma that comes along with receiving mental health services for veterans and first responders.
Danielle uses an integrative approach in her therapeutic philosophy. This therapeutic style aids individuals in becoming aware of the maladaptive patterns in their past and developing insight into “why things are happening in my relationships now." Additionally, she encourages understanding of the ”here and now” of the individual's feelings, behaviors, and thoughts and facilitates change in these areas. The benefit of being able to integrate this style is that she can influence the directive of the treatment based on the individual’s needs and goals. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time on her mini farm with her family, taking care of her menagerie of animals, reading, and listening to music. |
